In the early 20th century, Tusculum’s campus included a farm where students grew crops and raised chickens and pigs to pay their tuition between 1915 and 1919.

Food generated from the school farm fed students and staff and was also sold for additional income. Much of the land remained in cultivation until the 1950s, but it was rented out by the college after 1919.
