History Happened Here . . .

THE OLD OAK

The Old Oak is perhaps Tusculum’s most recognizable landmark. The tree itself is
estimated to be three centuries old. With a circumference of 273 inches, the tree towers 102
feet and has a 124-foot average spread - making it the 6th largest oak in the state. Old Oak is estimated to be between 250 and 300 years old.

In 2012, the Tennessee Landmark and Historic Tree Register added the tree to its registry. The annual Old Oak Festival derives its name from the tree.
